Heading Off to Coolondale

Hi, I'm Sam L, and I wanted to share one of my favourite camping memories from 2025. A group of us headed to Coolondale in New South Wales for a relaxing weekend away, and it turned out to be one of those trips we'll all remember for a long time.
Before the trip, I bought a new tent and couldn't wait to put it to use. Setting it up at the campground and seeing our whole group together made me even more excited for the weekend ahead. The location was beautiful, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for.
Great Food and Good Company
One of the best parts of the trip was our BBQ dinners. Every evening, we'd gather around, cook up some food and spend hours chatting and laughing together. There's something special about sharing meals outdoors with friends after a day of exploring.
An Unexpected Visitor
While relaxing around camp, we spotted a huge blue-tongue lizard making its way through the area. Everyone stopped to admire it and take a few photos before letting it continue on its journey. Seeing wildlife up close always adds something extra to a camping trip.
Cooling Off in the River
The weather was perfect, so we spent plenty of time swimming in the river. The water was refreshing, and it was a great way to cool down during the day. Between the river, the peaceful surroundings and the company of good friends, it felt like the perfect escape from everyday life.
Looking Forward to the Next Adventure
For me, this trip was a reminder of why I love camping so much. It isn't just about the gear or the destination. It's about making memories, spending time with great people and enjoying the outdoors. I'm already looking forward to our next group camping trip back to Coolondale.
